Frequently asked questions

Will resizing reduce image quality?

Resizing to a smaller size generally keeps images looking sharp. Enlarging an image beyond its original dimensions can make it look softer, since new pixels have to be created.

Does the aspect ratio change when I pick a preset?

Presets use fixed dimensions, so if your image's original proportions are different, the image will be stretched or cropped to fit unless you use Custom Size with aspect ratio locked.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

Image Resizer processes your file directly in your browser using canvas rendering, so your image is not uploaded to a server during resizing.

What image formats are supported?

You can upload JPG, PNG, or WebP images, and export the resized result as JPG, PNG, or WebP.
